I spent entirely too much of the late 80s/early 90s calling local BBSs. Got into the warez thing, even went to a few meetups. Dial-up internet comes along and kills the hobby dead inside of a year. I still have the occasional dream where I've simply forgotten to check in with the boards for the last two decades only to find out that I've got three emails and maybe a dozen posts to read through to get all caught up.
