Got a pc with an old Hexcore AMD FX-6300 and want to upgrade.
My options are:
-) AMD FX-8350, older, but cheap
-) AMD FX-9590, latest, but pricier

Not really, the fx 8370 if oc'ed to 9590 speed will soar up to 350w, while the 9590 steady at 220-250w

I'd just overclock (assuming you haven't yet) and try to wait out for Zen.

Uhh no, oc'd to 9590 levels it will sit close to 190-200w
Plus it's a known fact the 9590 comes way overvolted from factory
