I've always wondered, what exactly causes the discolouration (yellowing) of wireless antennas? It's not that common but I've seen it a few times. Is it just the poor material coupled with years of use?

it's a result of the compounds used in plastic making that varies by lot number

I know older incandescent exit signs turn yellow and are made with flame retardant plastic, but I never thought that PC cases would have the same chemicals as well.
