I'm looking to get a HTPC, and originally i was going to build a Mini ITX... but I just discovered Gigabyte Brix (pic related), and love how small it is.
Uses of the HTPC will be watching media, torrenting, browsing internet.
Does anyone have any experience with Gigabyte Brix?

When thats out, you'll be telling me to wait for the next iteration.
Plus, what do i need a better GPU for?
Either it plays 4K videos or it doesn't.

VP9 decoding fucker. Buy this now and youw ont be able to play 4k videos a year later when webm becomes the new standard.

Did some research, seems that people say BRIX is louder, so I'll definitely go for a NUC.
Looking at this one

Get an Nvidia Shield TV and root it.
For a really cheap 4K-capable HTPC (i.e. video not gaming) I went with the Zotac ZBOX CI323 Nano. You can trick it out with a crapload of RAM and a decent HDD for $200-250 total. Honestly don't think you need anything nearly as heavyweight as what the Brix has. Also passively cooled like a boss.
The fact that it has 2x Gigabit Ethernet ports has me wanting to pick up a second one for use as a cheap pfsense box (would be even cheaper because I would use less RAM and a smaller SSD).
