>Get quiet case fans and cpu heatsink
>Get driven insane because now you can listen to the subtle vibration the fans make
I envy you for living in a very quiet area. I'm in the suburbs but the sound of wind and the occasional passing car is enough to cover for slight computer sound.
Can you move the tower any further away and/or put stuff between it and you?

>tfw optiplex gx620
yes sir, i am understanding you have a problem with sound.
have you tried turning your computer off.
>>55279873
I live 2 streets away from the 5 freeway, and when they finish expanding it, it will be only 1 street away.
There's always a dull roar here.
Check your ambient background noise privilege.
I wanna fuck that bunny.
>>55279873
Worse: get quiet fans, now hear monitor and hard drives buzzing
>>55280229
>Monitor buzzing
The fuck? Do you actually physically have a CRT?
>>55279873
>Get semi-passive everything, no fans or spinning drives
>Can hear all the coil whine
There's no escape from this hell
my computer sounds like a small jet engine when it boots, i'm okay with it at this point.
>>55279873
>not wearing headphones at all times
Just start playing music in the background at all times. Not saying that you should blast that shit on 11, just enough to cover the vibration.
>>55280011
hello fellow west coaster. I'm sorry for your loss.

> use 15 inch retina MacBook as main computer
> perfect silence

>get 20 foot wires, put hole in drywall, and route cables through a different room for complete silence
>lcd panels aren't actually silent
>>55280248
>Can hear all the coil whine
I didn't even know this was a thing, but it drives me up the fucking wall
>>55280242
no I have one of the first 120hz panels. When displaying a lot of text, it buzzes. I was even able to make it "play a song" by displaying black and white lines with varying widths. Gonna upgrade that piece of shit soon (acer GD245HQ)
>>55280242
Not that anon, but my LCD buzzes. It's almost louder than HDD.
It also heats up a lot and both intensify greatly on higher brightness settings.
Just old tech things, I guess?
>>55282638
got the same one. there's a fix but requires getting thermal pads and putting them on some of the ics in the monitor
>>55279873
>coil whine
