Why don't people just make all native apps in JavaScript instead of C since you can get all the system functionality with nodejs?

Why don't we all have Pentium 2/128MB PCs then because that's what JS performance on programs would be like.
I'm just waiting for the day when computers no longer have hard drives. They'll just have enough memory to run OS.js and connect to the cloud where all your files and every program you'll ever need is, written entirely in javascript just like your OS.
