Molex is a manufacturer that makes all kinds of connectors, though 'a Molex connector' is usually a 5v/12v high current power connector (think old PATA drives).

It's a 5 pin auxilary power connector. It was used in some old motherboards I think. I saw one on an old socket 478 board that supported RDRAM.

It has tubular contacts like molex, you wouldn't be able to connect it to the usual 3-pin header. Did motherboards have special connectors for that? It is true that it has smaller gauge wires than the other supply connectors.
