Try and find model names or manufacturer stickers on them somewhere.

Ah, saw the Sony and dvcam logos.
These are tape drives. They're worth like 20$ tops each if they still work, more if you have dv or mini dv tapes

No, not really and I'm a retrofag.
Some of them are tape drives pretty much still in use today.
I think I've seen some of those kind of units at my local radio station.
