I take it you've never played any FPS or racer on a proper resolution.
Fuck 4k and the resolution chase pipe dream. It's not happening. I don't even feel right using it to downsample in ancient games where even at 4k I can get 300 fps. It feels wrong. Even 2560x1600 feels wrong compared to the good old 320x240 - 1920x1200 resolutions. Everything in this range feels right. Anything above it just feels wrong. Like I'm wastefully taxing my GPU for nothing.

I get 60fps ultra on my 4k 40" monitor on all games on my 1080 and it looks beautiful. When set the games to 1440p Luke used to the difference is night and day. I admit 4k is a meme on anything below 30" though.

Use IPS if you care about colors and angles(if you tilt TN monitors even a little bit, the monitor looks ugly as fuck I have a TN monitor as a secondary display and IPS as main).
Use TN if you're stuck in 2005 and think 3-4ms makes a difference in gaming monitors.

Probably never.
HBM is an interim solution between discrete stacked DRAM and DRAM stacked on the GPU die and connected via TSVs directly.
It's not technically feasible quite yet, but it will ultimately be cheaper than using large interposer dies, and it will probably be figured out before cheapo cards actually need 500+ GB/s bandwidth.
