I actually just installed it out of curiosity. Didn't like the brown tint. But made me realize that 25% bright is still too bright. So at least the takeaway has been to lower my brightness even more to a more comfortable level.

It is not. You've never used f.lux I guess. F.lux turns down the blue channel making things look more orange. Reading mode just turns up the red and green making white look more orange but blue look just as bright as before just slightly greener. That's missing 100% of the fucking point of the setting. I hate it.
