Are there any resources to quickly learn how to properly design a testing environment? I went through Andrew Ngs course but on my first real project I am getting odd results.

I wrote a machine learning software for genotyping copy number variation in next generation sequencing libraries.

It uses a RBF kernal and is trained on 1000 Genomes validated structural variants

I estimated the FDR for deletions to be 2% and duplications 4%

pretty good compared to previous methods
