Honestly, MetroTube and myTube were better than the official YouTube app, and supported background playback OOTB. I now own a Z3c, and while Android is miles ahead of WP, the YT apps were better.

PVSTARR+ was taken down, newpipe exists but it's pretty shitty... I don't know of any others
