MS vs Google. I was thinking about which company is more evil, and imo Google edges it.

Granted I'm not that invested in MS since giving up on their OS, but aside from the aggressively pushed telemetry updates, which is really shameful, I have a feeling they are doing some great work recently opensourcing stuff and supporting developers. Maybe it is just part of the strategy, trying to remain relevant in the commnity.
Otoh it seems, Google really just wants to become a big advertising botnet. Search is still best in class, and most of us is stuck with a Google Account (many never asked for, just needed an email service back then which not sucked) but one that prides itself a technology company, they did not really come up with anything useful lately.

I want to hate FB, but they cant' act evil at this point, it is pretty much an opt-in chat. Also, they are pretty frank about data collection, and don't have arrogant 'don't be evil' mottos. Somehow I never expected them to be good to begin with.

Never used Apple, I'm economically too aware of their products. Again, a company built on exploiting their fans, they don't want to claim moral highground. Their stance in the San Bernardino encryption case was nice, granted they only acted in their best interest, which aligned with the public POV.

Microsoft has always been pretty good for a big company. Theres not much else that size that has any level of integrity at all.

Google is a nightmare, we really need to watch out. I've even considered buying Apple over Android for the sole fact of avoiding having so much Google on my phone.

Fact: Facebook collects data on non-users, makes profiles on them and their browsing habits.

Google is pretty much synonymous with Big Data as far as a consumer (should) be concerned.
