Why won't this shit play my 8bit FLAC mkvs in HW decoding mode but it will play 10bit MP3 mkvs in HW+?

It won't play 8bit H264 video FLAC audio mkvs in anything but SW mode, but it will play 10bit H264 video MP3 audio mkvs in HW+ mode.
I don't understand what the problem is. It must be an issue with FLAC decoding.
