What are the non-autistic pros of using this? I know you can increase signal strength which would be useful, but what else?

the stock firmware on some routers will only let you use some features with routers of the same brand sometimes. like linksys routers can only be set up as a bridge-repeater for other linksys routers. you could flash this and use it as a bridge-repeater for any router you want
