So what printer/scanner does /g/ use or has that gone the way of the dodo bird? In nearly all these battlestation/room threads not one show's your printer/scanner. Here's mine, ye old but very good HP c-3140 all in one from 2006. Still make ink for it. Walmart has the ink still in stock.

I use HP Officejet 4630. Your thread has me thinking though. Is there a thinkpad equivalent for printers? I feel like a quality printer has something like the following...

> Cheap options for ink
> Easy to replace parts
> Open sourced driver compatibility

I haven't followed too many printer threads on /g/ so i don't know what really makes a quality printer.

I'm actually trying to figure out if I need a new printer or not... My current one doesn't have Win10 drivers. Yes I've tried downloading Win7 ones but they're 32 bit..

Not a professional here but have you tried using the 32 bit version? It might still work on your computer.

I use an Epson K301.

It's a monochrome inkjet, yeah. Thing is, all I ever really print is documents so I don't really give much of a shit about color. And I print small documents constantly, so I can be sure that the heads don't dry out.

Printer cost me about $50. Got aftermarket ink tanks for $10. Got a whole liter of imported high-quality ink from Worst Korea for $20.

It has a 250 sheet paper tray. It does automatic duplexing. It has an ADF (though it only takes A4/Letter/Legal and will refuse to ADF anything of a different size, but I never needed to actually do that), again with duplex of course. Has an Ethernet port. Working Linux drivers. Cost per page is ridiculously low due to the aftermarket supplies, but quality is still as good as ever. Print speeds are bretty good, nothing exceptional but certainly OK for my university student needs and the occasional bill, 2-for-1 theater coupon, or Word homework document my dad or sister need to print out.

All in all I'm happy with my purchase. I keep thinking how a color laser would be so cool, but then again, it'd be a shit ton of money for something I don't need at fucking all.

Stick with your HP. Used to have lexmark. Utter shit. Thing would constantly pull double sheets plus quality was poor. Epson's good but ink cost a lot.

I want letter size thermal printers to become a thing. They don't die.
