If you cant use ethernet cable for direct access, buy a repeater.
I currently am using a FritzBox 450E and it works like a charm.
Notice the Ethernet adapter at the bottom, which lets me directly connect to the repeater, located in another room on the 3. floor and then it connects over wireless to the router.

Or you can just use it as a normal wifi extender, positioned somewhere between your router and your PC.
