Cheapest refurbished thinkpad you can find is the good, cheap laptop you can buy for programming and general work.

I don't understand what other advices you were expecting, I guess other business laptops that come out of companies would also do. It's hard to compete with specs and price of refurbished laptops.

If you're getting a thinkpad you'll definitely want a T420 or older, the keyboard is much better for programming than their new chiclet shit
