The experiment of an Apple not run by Steve Jobs has been performed before, and we know what happened last time and what is happening to Apple this time around. Except this decline is more gradual than the one in the 90s.
How did he do it? Was it because he was a control freak?

Steve made it feel like every single apple device was special and that if you had it you were better than people who did not have it. He created elitism by not making to many different versions of products, fuccboi tim cooks has ruined this completely.

nothing magical about right time, right place. the ipod was first then the iphone then the ipad. what new product has had that kind of impact? the iwatch flopped and the itv did the same. apple tried to innovate, but the market didn't want the products. jobs had his hands all over the iwatch and itv yet they failed. why? because consumers don't want a smartwatch or smart tv. consumers didn't want 3d or 4k either so those have floundered. the stock price reflects those product failures and now apple has to rely on upgrades from existing consumers instead of new revenue streams. it's not really about jobs being dead.
