What do you all prefer for connecting your non-wifi enabled devices to your wireless network? Do you prefer small individual devices like this or an entire separate router?

I use either a usb dialup modem, or a wifi router with ethernet ports.

Hey, I have that exact model (TL-WR703N). I originally got it for use as a router for a USB mobile broadband stick; I no longer use that but I repurposed the device exactly as you described (ethernet bridge). Works just fine, would recommend.

Of course, nothing beats a direct, real ethernet connection. Do that if you possibly can.

I've been thinking about building a media server for my car for long trips so everyone can stream movies locally. Looks like I could use one of those TP link devices to serve the Wi-Fi network. I just have to figure out something that could serve movies.

The 703N has a USB port. I'm not sure whether it can act as a server for media on that drive, but it's worth checking.

Of course, for vehicle use you wouldn't want to use a mechaniacl HDD- you'd need a large USB storage stick or an SSD in an enclosure.

why would I want to connect a non wifi device to a wifi network if I have a wired network too?
