I don't know how it is nowadays, but before 2013 if you rooted your iPhone and were stupid enough to not read and used all default settings, your phone >>>BY DEFAULT<<< would leave SSH open to the world with a default password (root:alpine). Since iPhones also reported their hostname and had iPhone in them, all you had to do was scan for port 22 and "iPhone" to find any eligible phones on the network to fuck with.
In my entire year of doing this for fun, I had ONE person who actually changed the default password.
With SSH you literally had everything and could do wonders from afar. I even got into a couple of kids' phones from the exact class I was in and began fucking with them or showing off their retarded photos to everyone else. Once they alerted the teacher who thought they were crazy. Good times.

Look into password cracking. I did it for fun on a 1-day kick and found that that is going to be one of the first (relatively) to be guessed in a brute-force attack. Do numbers/symbols first then your letters.
Something like !@2112qazaz is quick (all left side) and plenty secure.
Of course my 1-day kick didn't make me an expert but afaik this will be good enough for virtually every attempt at fraud apart from social engineering (we don't fall for that) or keylogging.
