I opened up a Kobo ereader years ago. The internal storage, which was just an SD card, was formatted to be 2GB, but it was actually an 4GB card IIRC. It was cheaper to use 4GB cards than to try and source 2GB.
Not sure how common this is.

Sandisk and Samsung both have cards that top out at either 90MB/s or 95MB/s. I'm sure there are others with similar specs as well.
