Get KernelEx for 2000, along with KDW. (Look up KDW carefully before you fuck up the entire OS with it).

KernelEx will run XP+ applications as long as they don't do version checks.

I'd suggest trying to find an .ISO of a fully-updated SP4 image and doing a fresh start if you're not fully updated.

Kind of? It doesn't run anything non-supported AMAZINGLY, but KernelEx helps things at least have a chance to run.

That and 2000's DOS mode is all emulation IIRC, you'd want to be on ME or lower for true DOS.
