I think so. Someone on Reddit made a mock-up for a setup that actually turned a whole drafting table into a virtual Cintiq like tablet experience.
The pen he used would work on the surface of the table with a USB device hooked on the top of the table that used infrared signal to the pen location on the desk and the guy could use any setup he wanted at that point(monitors are mapped to the desk).

My coworker would not shut the fuck up about it, so I got one and have replaced my 2x 1080 monitors with them. The monitor itself is a godsend and is a perfect fit for the desk, but what I like even more is that it's mounted up high with the included stand so I have way more room on my desk and it's not just a cluttered mess.
For gaming it increases my FoV a shit ton, and for coding it's just as effective as my 2 monitors were, if not more because it's basically two monitors in one.

Cheers :) The new monitors are really nice! I think going 1080p for the outer monitors was a good idea afterall, it makes everything slightly larger so it's easier for me to see things on the screen that are further away from me.
Studio monitor mounting isn't going too well unfortunately. The G5 case is back on my desk now because it makes cable management much easier (it stretches the cables the perfect amount so everything is near the top of the desk and hidden) Anyway I've mounted the monitors and they are far too big and look ridiculous when mounted. I think I'm going to sell them and get some BX5's or a different pair.
Also just bought pic related! It's an 84 Key IBM Model F that I just found on Ebay today as a new listing thanks to pure luck of deciding to search for one. got it for £120 from america incl delivery charges
