I would upgrade to 8, but not 8.1 because it makes the start menu look like a bag of skittles

Personal opinion: If your computer was built in the last four, max five years, then go ahead. If it was built earlier than that, something probably lacks proper driver support for ten, and Microsoft will let you upgrade, but the experience will be shit with a terrible basic driver from Windows Update.
