So, now that the NSA is trying to finger our digital buttholes at every waking moment how do you stay protected? I passed a DNS leak test on my VPN but the NSA probably has other space aged technology to unmask me.

This. The only way to be 100% safe is to have no connection.
A way to be 90% safe is to have network hardware off/removed when your not using it and monitor and review all of your traffic when you are using it (and don't use it often)
