Is there *any* computing sector that's doing well anymore? Everyone thought tablets were the future, turns out people bought one and never feel the need to upgrade. And honestly if all you use it for is movies, books, and Internet then an iPad 2 or nexus 7 is still just fine.
Laptops are stagnant with every manufacturer trying a different gimmick.
Cell phones are locked for most people with a predictable upgrade every 2 years subsidized or rented.
Gaming desktops are about the only bright PC sector, as people move to PC gaming.
I'm guessing this is all a result of computing power reaching good enough for most people as of nearly a decade ago. Upgrades are no longer a result of major quality of life changes but just replacement of hardware failures
