Why is it that my skype call quality goes to shit whenever I'm loading a youtube video. I even tried it on discord and the same thing happened. Call is fine, everything's good - load a youtube video and it goes to shit.
No internet problems other than that - I have fibre so everything should be good and was good until a couple of months ago when this started.

Youtube uses adaptive streaming; that is, it will attempt to max out the available bandwidth in order to download the highest quality and will change to a lower quality if it detects a change in available bandwidth. I assume that you're looking at HD stuff on youtube, try forcing a lower quality and see if the problem persists. If it does, then the reason is something else.
Btw, is this video over skype or just audio call?

Well I just tried watching in lower quality and that doesn't make the call go as toaster - thanks. But what can I do about this? I pay for fibre, I wanna watch in 1080p
Never use video call so just audio call

See if your router supports QoS of any sort. You can set Skype to always have priority for example.
