Can't find any stupid question thread
I want to upgrade my rig when the RX480 is released but I also want a smaller form factor, can I just take my current rig and put it in a mATX case if I buy a new motherboard?
You will probably have to cut a inch or two off your mobo. When you do it, just make sure you use a diamond tipped blade so it's a clean cut
Depends on whether or not the rx 480 will fit in a microATX build. It looked kinda small so maybe but you'd need to get the dimensions to make sure beforehand.

This, so long as the cuts are clean and you don't hit anything protruding from the board you will be fine.

Just get a corsair carbide air, or a fab xb. Those both fit full atx

Youll need to put thermal paste on the cut so the quantum cooling channels in the board are connected

make sure to use thermal paste on your socket aswell when you switch your mobos, extends the life of your mobo and CPU.
