made the mistake of buying a chuwi vx8. got charging problems and the like.
What's a good 8inch tablet with a 16:9 ratio. Easy to hold in one hand. willing to go $250AUD or a little bit higher.

If it's already proper fucked, try tearing it apart and have a crack at fixing it. My Ainol 10" tablet wouldn't charge at all and was dead, so I ripped that fucker apart and found the solder on the charge port had cracked and come loose. Resoldered it and we were good to go.

This. Found out the power button on my a500 was angled up so it wouldn't press anymore. Angled it back to 90 degrees, added a drop of glue, and it's been working flawlessly since then.
Making this post from my chuwi hi8, and I couldn't be more satisfied. It's snappy, has a great resolution, and the plastic screen means it will scratch instead of shattering.
