A: Having to install drivers to fix the DVD burner is certainly plausible, but update? Unlikely to solve the problem, unless the client was at any point issued faulty drivers.
B: Windows 7 Ultimate should have DVD burning software built in, so nope.
C: Again unlikely to solve the issue unless the client was issued faulty/broken software, or some other update caused the DVD burning software to break. Plausible, sure, but most likely?
D: Many laptops, including the one I wrote my answer do not have any DVD reading ability, let alone writing. This is clearly the answer.
