for linux it should be mpv - its terminal-operated and displays movies in ascii. it's nice because you can copy-past individual frames as text

I miss bomi so much
I was ecstatic when I found it
It was everything I wanned from a player and more
I reported some issues on authors github and he fixed them next day
And then few months later his hiatus started and bomi stopped being maintained
It was ok since it was really a done program
Only the Qt 5.6 came out and bomi no longer compiles
I am on terrible and bare mpv now, like an animal

You have to delete something in the cache and it'll magically start working again.
The problem is i don't remember what you were supposed to do. Haven't used VLC in a while.
There is only one good video player on any platform, and that's MPV. No other video player supports video-sync=display-resample, which is the only way to get perfect frame timing on general purpose PC hardware.
