Is your heatsink OK? Is your fan or heatsink dusty? Have you replaced your thermal paste recently, and if you did, have you applied it correctly?

I haven't opened my computer for 5 years. I checked inside last week - it was like a snowball. Cleaned up some dust with a fine brush because I dont have canned air. I never actually opened the tray of the CPU or checked if the dude that built my PC even applied thermal paste or hooked up the heat sink correctly.
