Should I even bother going through more tutorials if I already know the basics of programming? Should I just choose something to make and use google a shitload?

Well sonny boy you would be wrong. You can reuse code but it is by and far not the point of using OOP.

You want a challenge? Download a copy of Introduction to Algorithms 3rd Edition, by Cormen et al., and then implement the Heap data structure. Bonus points if your heap resizing algorithm generates its own primes list.
