Pure acetone might be enough to fuck up the insides. Should evaporate without residue.
Avoid getting it on anything plastic on the outside or it will melt it.
Ooh, here's an idea - get an ultrasonic vibration thing and shake that fucker until something comes loose.

I'd do acetone as a last resort. Melty insides will be hard to explain.
A loose component due to vibration is much less suspect.
