My new job is giving me a Mac(as in foldable computer not IEEE 802). 15" MBP 2016 to be precise. I don't really like large laptops and don't really know how to use that fancy drag and drop OS X stuff. My question is: how easy is it to get a useable tiling interface and stuff like rxvt-unicode, vim and misc X11 applications to work on macs? Do I need to worry about the high DPI? I'm not really good at those fancy CPU confusers and I'm not a programmer or anything so give it to me straight.

why?

Because I want to help poor children in Uganda.
Also, I am working on some simulations on the side and I am writing them in C with some parallelizing libs. They are executed on an HPC cluster but I generally like to develop them locally. Plus I just really like the block select and built in support for regex in vim.

those don't exist

So what is your job exactly?
>>54855268
I'm a wageslave at a university in one of the IT branches. (I'm just here for the free courses towards my graduate degree). My job doesnt really have any programming besides some scripting. I am mostly supposed to provide support for faculty.

My bad. Whichever 15 inch one is here: http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/
All I need to know is whether I can tile my windows and avoid mouse pointer use as much as possible.
>>54855138
use spectacle, amnethyst or slate for tiling. I myslef prefer spectacle, which is only window arangement via shortcuts

???
How is OS X any more drag and drop than Windows and Graphical Linux shells are?
Nigga just dual boot with Linux and rice it to your hearts content you fucking moronic spergfest
