I live in bumfuck nowhere, so finding decent internet service is hard as fuck. I live a few hundred feet out of range for comcast, and no one offers an unlimited 3G or 4G hotspot, so I use an unlimited 2G hotspot. My only other option is satellite, which I'm probably going to try to get soon.

Well I couldn't load speedtest, so I wrote a script that downloads an HTML document and shows how long it took.
It's 20,277 bytes big, so about 20KB, and took 2.7 seconds.
So it's roughly 7KB/s
