So I want to upgrade my old computer.
Current specs:
P6X58D premium
i7 920
8GB DDR3 1600
GTX 650 Ti Boost
I only have about 300$ to work with, though.
I'm thinking of getting an i5 6500 and a new motherboard and RAM, while keeping my video card.
Option B is I buy more RAM for my current motherboard and a better video card. That's what I did last time.
What should I do? If I take option B, what's the best video card at the 150-200$ price point?

OC the shit out of that i7 and buy a better card, like a r9 380 (just in that price bracket) and you'll be able to play a lot of the newest titles in very high/ultra

Thanks I'll take a look

You still have to awaken the beast in that CPU.

I'm not convinced it's reached it's breaking point yet.

upgrade your GPU not CPU, also you might want to consider falling for the 16GB RAM meme.

Worth waiting a couple months for the GTX 1060?

Is it worth it to you? I personally would wait, because I don't like buying a card that becomes obsolete in 2 months.
