Hey /g/ what's the best image viewer for quickly viewing large JPEG files on Linux?

I have a lot of >10MB DSLR photos I would like to skim through but I'm currently using pic related and each image takes about half a second to load whenever I navigate to the next one.

Are there any good image viewers that can cache the next images in RAM for faster loading? I've search around but I can't find any that specifically say they do this.

I don't think many image viewers do this specific thing.

For my general purpose image viewing I use mpv, which is at least pretty close to optimal in terms of time taken to decode, but it doesn't cache images in advance (yet).

I know the windows photo viewer caches images in advance because going forward through a collection is considerably faster than navigating backwards.

However, that's obviously not an option here.

Do both of these have image caching?

Looked around some more and found Geeqie.

Supports image preloading and caching and also has a nice built in folder browser.

Navigating through images is almost instant too.

I'll probably stick with this for now, unless anyone else can suggest something better.

Thank you anon, this one seems to be the best so far.

Just as fast as Geeqie but better looking and without screen tearing.

The panel feature is pretty useful too.
