I like how mwave turns green when you select nvidia, I wonder howmuch that cost them

Probably more than AMD could afford to turn their shit red

Can see why would blame the government...

Not the importers/distributors...
>>
>>54797677
the government forces overseas retailers to collect gst thus emboldening importers to raise prices
dummy
>>
>>54797688
I am sorry?

You would rather offshore companies to not pay even less in taxes?

It's cute you think they would even drop the price without GST.

>protip, they won't.

i thought the founders edition costs extra money and has no additional performance over a non founders card.

you are talking about duty/tariffs right?

why should a retailer in another fucking country need to cowtow to whatever Fucking Australia wants

i import aluminium here to be welded to australian certifications (because our laws are so stringent), and the dropping dollar value is absolutely killing us.

there used to be a time where i joked about video games and technology being so expensive here, but now this shit is affecting everything and nobody's fucking laughing.

They aren't a foreign retailer.

You seem to not understand the importer section of the whole situation.

You want to know who is gouging the prices, guess what it's the importer.

And are you immensely dense, why the fuck shouldn't they be paying taxes.

unrelated, but interesting bit of technological food for thought in australia, though:

when self driving cars are a thing (and they will be, in some form or another), we're going to lose an absolutely gigantic stream of federal income, as autonomous vehicles don't commit traffic offenses and it's cheaper for an owner to send the vehicle home than to pay for parking in the city.

they're effectively driving for twice as long, generating twice as much loading on roads, with nothing but bridge tolls now contributing to federal revenue.

your tax dollars are currently being spent on a crack team of g-men in the department of transport and main roads are trying to figure out how to squeeze money out of your future likelihood of owning an autonomous vehicle, while our country's major north/south highway, linking 3 states, is one-lane and 40km/h.

The last one is absolutely true, we ought to be doing everything we can to prevent rewarding people for their bad behaviour. I'm completely with you on the rest though. Nice post anyway.

It's cheaper to fly to the US and buy Adobe shit than it is to buy it online in Australia.

Does it cost more to send photoshop all the way through the internet pipes to Australia or something?

The economy of scale argument doesn't justify the massive price increase most of the time, for any type of goods be it physical or digital

The ones with custom pcbs are really going to trash anything AMD has

I know this happens every election cycle but which of my Ausbros are truly sick of living here?

It just happens to be election time, but the endless barrage of stupid shit happening here just makes me want to pack my bags and try living somewhere else. At least a country that isn't stuck in the stone age with internet infrastructure. It's becoming truly pathetic at this point.

One thing about Australia is the country isn't forward thinking, at all. Who cares about renewables. Who cares about internet infrastructure.

I'll tell you what is important though, buying that investment property.

Founders edition cards are ideal for SLI due to the blower fans.
>>
>>54798453
That is not the case with Radeon for years where sometimes the price for custom card is cheaper than the base card.
Same shit can be said about GTX900 series.

But for some reason the AIBs for Nvidia is having a hard time matching the MSRP Nvidia stated with most of it floating closely to $700 mark.
>>
>>54798563

That's just due to price cuts, obviously you need to compare prices at launch
