Apple replaced my 3-year old rMBP due to display distortion issues. They gave an equivalent model; going from an i7/16gb RAM/512gb SSD/GT 650M to pic related.
Should I sell this and get a Surface Pro, or keep it then just get another AppleCare?

I don't know if it's the same here, but at least on my late-2013 rMBP 13" (i.e. no discrete GPU) I can play CS GO and stuff fine but it gets hot as fuck, ~80C, so I use smcFanControl to raise the fan speed. The default fan speeds are really low

OP, the machine is nice, using the one you got substituted atm and not gonna change it yet.
