It's 2016 and Xfeces is still the best GNU/Linux DE available.
The year of the Linux desktop will never come at this rate.

mate is good.

xfce is pretty great, it's the sweetspot in between lightweight and functional.
KDE is super functional but super bloated.
Tiling WM's are fucking useless unless you have a huge monitor or dual monitors preferably.
Oh and the YOTLD is already here, It's called Chrome OS.

XFCE should be good, but it's barely maintained. There's been a bug ever since I started using it years ago where if you try to drag something on the panel, the launcher icon disappears.

>not using just a WM
how does it feel being a cucksucker?
>>54731700
It feels bad but nonetheless I'm too lazy to learn a programming language just for the sake of being able to configure a WM.

openbox is pretty gui-filled
>>54730641
XFCE is okay but so is Cinnamon. There are options. Cinnamon is very modern and usable.
It's why I switched to Windows 10. I may even go to Mac OS.

What drove me away from cinnamon is that they forked like everything from GNOME, but it's 99% the same to the point that you can use the same themes and gnome-tweak-tool. Like, why?

>programming language
Openbox and the like use mostly config files, if I remember correctly. Not really programming.

>xfeces
>not just LXDE or just pure Openbox
