What makes a reliable computer?
I've heard Think-pads are quite reliable and i have read these four articles by Puget:

mostly luck.
I've had multi-$k, enterprise-backed servers at my office fail for no reason 5% into their expected lifetime.
I also have a plastic shit core2duo HP laptop that has been running nearly 24/7 since 2008 and never had a single issue or hardware failure.

I've collected old shit for almost a decade now and even the shitboxes can last a long time, most common causes of death are mistreatment, shitty capacitors and heat
