IIRC they're slightly slower in single thread but much faster in multi threaded benches. New ones are probably on par with skylel

I'm a third worlder, I don't think anyone in my area would jump ship from a 980ti, and if by a miracle someone does, it will probably close to its original price.
I'll see how Polaris performs and its price, as well as how high of a markup shops here add to Polaris and 1070, if they're overpriced then I suppose I'll have to find a used 980ti.

So my 4y old rig has served me well for many years, but my GPU died (Radeon HD 7850).

I don't have money for a new PC, but I want to replace the GPU with some budget card.

I think I narrowed it down to the GTX 750 ti vs. R7 360. They seem to be roughly the same both in performance and price (~ 110 euro).

>Radeon R7 360

Any advice on which one to get, also which version, personal experiences? (EVGA, MSI, Sapphire etc.)

Use a cable tie or something to prop it up, if there's a hole or something to loop the tie through you can use the holes in the case to prevent sag, I have an R4 and I do exactly that.

Nothing wrong with the chipset itself, but the fact that boards that use it, never have proper vrm (with enough phases) with decent enough cooling.
>>
I'm not sure where to ask but I remember some of you guys owning a few very small cases.

I'm gonna move to another country (I'm gonna have to fly there).
Currently I have an R4, housing an ATX mobo, running a 3570k cooled by a Noctua NH U14, for space it has 2 SDDs, 3 HDDs, and for gayming an R9 270x.

I was thinking of selling the R4 and mobo, get an itx mobo and a Node 304.
The Node can house all the drives, has space for the PSU and GPU, and while I'm almost sure the U14 won't fit I can always check first.
Then the Node could travel with me in the small baggage I can take with me on board, while all the unimportant shit can be dumped into the big one that is stuffed under the plane.

I was thinking maybe just sell everything but psu, drives, mobo+cpu (because I don't see the need to upgrade this), gpu (because I don't really pray game and gpus depreciate too much to be worth selling it and "upgrading" it), and cooler (muh noctua), they take very little space in their cartons, and ghetto run it until I settle and buy the new case and stuff at the new place.

Okay guys, new builder here.

Just got my system up and running and installed windows 10 pro with no problems.

I then proceeded to to install the driver disc that came with the MSI Z97 motherboard. It was installing fine until part way through the VGA driver install when the screen no longer recognized the computer.

I can get to the Motherboards Bios screen but it will not load up windows any longer. It just boots to a grey screen once past the mobo screen.

Did i screw something up? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't yet. Just running off the Motherboards HDMI. I've also got an older screen running off the VGA. Signal comes through both until I get past the MSI bios screen, then it just goes to grey and stays there.

Is there a way I can access the SSD to wipe the drivers that got installed so I can at least get Windows 10 running?

So I was fiddling with the mouse and keyboard like some forums said and have now been able to get the cursor to appear.

So now I have a cursor and a grey/black screen. Is this because during the driver installation it caused windows to set up for dual monitors? If so how can I reset this?
>>
>>54723846
well first try unplugging one, if that doesn't reset it then you might have to wipe your windows install and start over. Booting from the install disc (or USB depending on your installation method) should still work.

I'd recommend installing display drivers with only 1 monitor plugged in.

I did only have the HDMI plugged in, but then it said no signal found. So I pulled out a monitor with VGA to make sure it was not the HDMI cable or something like that.

How do I wipe windows from the drive if all I have access to is the Bios screen?
>>
>>54723926
well like I said, use the installation media you installed windows with.

If you used a dvd, tell your bios to boot to the CD/DVD drive. If you used USB, tell your BIOS to boot to USB first.

Just make sure it's not trying to boot to the SSD/HDD first, because then you'll just keep getting windows.

The boot priority is that long row of different drives and shit on the top there beneath the clock.

I was thinking I should clean out the GPUs and possibly even replace the TIM. Then I said, it's such an effort to disassemble the reference shroud, it might be more economical to replace the whole cooler.

All of these aftermarket coolers are xbox-hueg or AIOs. Why do no manufacturers offer normal size coolers like you would find on a MSI, EVGA, or Gigabyte card?

I mean, I really don't *need* a new cooler, but these cards get somewhat loud with the custom fan curve trying to support my 1400Hz overclock.

I really want a custom loop, but the cheapest I can part out online is almost $400, that money is almost an entire new 1080.

Ditching the cards once the 1080ti comes out (And waiting for what AMD offers but I don't want to get my hopes up)
Too many issues with SLI

Theyre all true, didnt you see the reddit thread?

>>54729960
Or download series, or movies, or whatever, right? :)

You might as well get the best case for the money, might as well get anything thats best for the money

In other words, get a mac pro you cock guzzling faggot
>>
>>54730104
desu I used to do it a lot. now I just watch them online because I got lazy.

and no way I am getting a mac pro, I will take it for free tho.
>>
>>54730137
just get a fucking Micron/Crucial or intel ssd, theyre a bit more jewish but dont randomly delete your data either
>>
>>54729509
Get a better CPU cooler and a case that isn't shit. If buying AMD GPU then I'd recommend either MSI or Sapphire with Sapphire being the best.
>>
>>54719965
why do you have the front intake fans blowing air through a radiator into the case? If they are blowing out, why would you not have the outtake fan at the top and intake at the front? (heat rises)

these fucks are think natural convection is myth like global warming, no point in trying to tell them otherwise.
>>
>>54730386
Convection exists. You're just too fucking stupid and drastically overestimate it's effect. Even a 500 RPM fan moves air thousands of times faster than the kind of convection you're likely to see in a case. You're far better off having a more unrestricted airflow path, blowing front to back, than you are attempting to make use of convection and blowing bottom to top.

Is getting a 1080 with a skylake i5 or i7 a plausible idea or do I really need to shell out for an X99 octa core or some shit like the memers will be claiming?
>>
>>54731883
If its for gaming right now an i5 is okay but an i7 is a safer bet going forward.

X99 only if you are going to do something more than gaming and also are prepared to wait 4-5 years and buy an aftermarket Xeon or something on ebay as a drop in upgrade to keep it viable for another 3-4 years. It's got great potential long term life span, assuming your motherboard lives long enough.

Thanks for the info.

I really dont know shit about the bottleneck crap everyone spews, I was really just gonna build my PC and hope it works.
>>
>>54730724
While I agree with you for standard orientation cases. I'm curious to what you think about cases that are set up for natural convection like the FT02 or 5
>>
>>54715217
wat?
so my i7 2600 is as good as a skylake?
>>
>>54732021
At the same clock speed it's gonna be a good 20-30% slower depending what you''re doing.
>>
>>54732021
My 2500k is @4.5 in the pic.
