Why don't we have visualizers as wallpapers?
Or high-def looping videos?
Or even an animated layer on top of the image?

Same problem as wigets: burns up cpu time and memory.

but it's 2016 we have enough
having moving shit on your desktop is distracting

Do it then, if you want? I personally won't waste the resources on something that's distracting and I'll hardly ever see.
PSP did this IIRC, had some pretty cool visualizers

This. Unless you regularly zone out while gawping at your desktop like a mong, it's pointless.

If you can dream it, you can make it..
>install vlc
>use video background loop

Why do we have wallpapers to begin with? Or desktops. I havent used desktops shortcuts since 2009.

You're right. We should also get rid of computer wallpapers altogether. We'd save even more resources if we stopped with the 4k backgrounds of cartoon girls.

I've been using solid colours for years. I see it for like ten seconds after I boot my PC, then never again because I'm too busy wanking myself raw to pictures of cartoon girls.

I'm using a 4:3 17 inch Dell from 2009 and I love it.
