It's not stupid if it's priced well and you know what you're buying. I got mine becuase it was a good deal, and I wanted AMD-v with IOMMU for VGApassthrough, which I would have payed out the ass for with Intel.
I'm just waiting to see what the new cards shape up to be.

Considering it all (CPU+MOBO+RAM+COOLER) costed under 200$ (used) I'm happy.
Should I get the i3 6100? I'm choosing between the i3 and an i5 6500 but I don't want to spend more on something I don't actually need. I'll use the pc mainly on gaming (csgo, fo4, civ6, etc) and other light work.
Also planning to pair it with the upcoming r9 480.
Trying to get the most out of this motherboard (AM3 socket), I just bought a FX-6300. I've got a GTX 960 with it. Upgrading from an Athlon II X4 635. Hopefully the whole system feels a bit snappier; I think I'm bottlenecking my video card right now.
