Working with cars is a proper pain in the ass. New cars because there is absolutely no space and even the simplest tasks require shitloads of work. Old cars because everything is stuck and finding parts can be difficult.

Well I mean you're car should be properly setup for high speeds. For instance, when I did my final top speed run in my 928. I got z rated tires, that were good for at least 10 minutes at 200mph, had them balanced within a gram of each other. I had new shocks put on and a custom alignment with a very slight degree of negative camber. And new brake pads. Hit 188 before I ran out of gas.
