I have had my Acer laptop for 2 years and its still going strong. The copy of windows it came with was corrupted so I installed GNU/Linux and I haven't had a problem since.

I have a acer laptop and 2 of my friends also have one. The general opinion is: "Meehhh".
Its a laptop, its not good, its not bad its just... "Meehh". If this does not bother you and the price is right then by all means buy one.

None of the old acer laptops there are in my family have stopped working even though they are low quality builds and cases are made of cheap plastic that loses the paint and break apart, but I bought a new one for me last year because they also are cheap for the specs they have.
Can confirm, quality is low tier, the screen has particles and scratchs inside and vendor insists warranty only cover broken elements, not this kind of issues.
Case is fragile and keyboard starting falling apart and enter key almost doesnt work.
Despite of this, internal components are great, cooling is good, power consumption is efficient and battery still last up to 8 hours after one year.
Hdd is not very fast but looks reliable and also installed an SSD on it already anyways.
Luckily it will last long enough but
my recommendation is that you look for better brands if you have the money.
