Just make a choice for once OP

Mini itx is good if you live in a tiny room, enjoy hot components and regularly move your computer. I guess they look cute too.

Define r5 it is

Fuck that is one hideous shoe

You can also go micro-atx. Components are cheaper than ITX and it's marginally larger so a bit more cooling.

Mini ITX. Recently built a form factor PC for a friend and it was a lot more fun than I thought I could have building a computer. The satisfaction of having everything you'd put into a mid tower fit inside a mini ITX box is unparalleled.

As long as you have a good heatsink and fan setup, heat shouldn't become an issue. Just make sure to use fan filters and clean them regularly. Bonus points for using a full sized double slot GPU, not all cases support them but the ones that do are usually a lot higher quality anyways.

I'd recommend looking at SilverStone to get started, Lian-Li if you want something pricey and extravagant, and at least check out Thermaltake since they have one or two nice looking mini cases. Stay away from InWin.

My main thing is finding a less wide case. Most of the popular matx I see is a cube form factor nowadays

I love noctua coolers. What do you think of the define nano s? I need something as silent as possible

but literally every mini-ITX case seems to be a cube.

Pretty much just a small, ITX form factor tower case. Nothing interesting going on, but fractal design does make quality cases. If you want simple easy, it's a good choice.

Noctua makes good coolers, but they're more expensive than they're worth. Be Quiet!, Cryorig, Phanteks, and most Cooler Master coolers are going to give you the same performance and noise level, just use pcpper and check specs on newegg to compare. Also be sure to use rubber fan mounting grommets, I can not understate how much these eliminate noise.
