Do RMS's four freedoms only apply to software? Shouldn't he extend them to all products of mankind if feels them essential and broaden his advocacy beyond software?
Shouldn't McDonalds give us their recipes so we can study our food, modify it to our tastes, and distribute copies to our friends?
Shouldn't fashion designers provide material lists, design patterns, and allow us to make our own clothes?
Shouldn't computer hardware companies provide blueprints and list the manufacturers of their parts so we can study our devices and get them to work the way we want?
If all of this happened, would the world even be better off?
